Customer Question

It only detects once in a while not every car that enters our driveway. We own a business and when I am in the house I need to know when someone enters our driveway.
JA: What's the make/model of your device? How old is it?
Customer: Where do I find that
JA: How long has this been going on? What troubleshooting have you tried?
Customer: Model 3000 R
JA: Anything else you want the security expert to know before I connect you?
Customer: Going on for a while it is only two years old

Hi, thank you for contacting My name is Russell. I will do my best to provide the right answer to your question.

I suspect that, if you do not have an improperly mounted Dakota 3000 Wireless Alert device, or one that is simply not working properly, you may need to turn up the sensitivity setting. (The sensitivity setting is # 3, in the illustration on page 3, of this documentation: )

If the sensor is mounted too high off the ground, you see, it will not detect all vehicles that don't have a sufficient heat signature higher up.

Also it helps if the sensor is pointed somewhat down the driveway rather than directly across it.

If this answers your question, please rate my answer. A five-star rating would be appreciated!
