Customer Question

We have a Vista-10 model and we want to change the code we use. When we follow the manual's info master code+8+2 or 02+new code + new code nothing happens. We were connected to an alarm service but we changed our phone and are now using a phone via internet. The alarm service was not compatible so we had to cancel it. Does it have any influence ?

It should be master code+ 802 new code new code... If that is not working then your code is not the master code...

The phone connection should have no affect on the master code, is there another code for the alarm?

Tried the above several times. It does not work. Is the master code the installer's ? We are talking about our own code which has nothing to do with the installer's code. Appreciate an answer with the solution asap. thank you.

No but the Installer code will work as well if you can get that... Either the MAster code or Installer code can be used to change the codes, if you have neither and no way to get one or the other we can backdoor enter the system and change the install code thereby allowing you to change the codes... To do this you will need to find the control box (a box about a foot square in a cupboard near the ceiling or in the loft.

Sorry Neil but if we use the installer's code with the sequence 802+new code + new code, it is the installer's code that changes and not our own personal code. What we need to change is our own code which has nothing to do with the installer's code. Can u help.

What you have then is the master code, but you can change other codes with that...

The installer code is in slot 1 (801) The master code is in slot 2 (802) so maybe your code is slot 3 (803)

So enter: master code + 803 + new code + new code

See if that changes your code, if not then try 804 and so on.... Just don't load the same code into each slot, load a different code if trying to identify which slot your code is in..

OK Neil. Did everything you suggested but it does not work. Maybe we had a misunderstanding as we do have the installer's code and our own personal code to arm and disarm the system. That is the one that we want to change. In the manual it says that when you change a code the system beeps 3 times which also does not happen when we tried your solution 802-803-804 etc..
Is there a difference between the Vista 10 and Vista 10 SE as far as the above is concerned ? Thanks for your help and sorry for the late reply.

The code loading is the same... So at this stage you can only change what you think is the master code using 802??? If so then you don't have the Install code, you have the master code... But as you can't change 803 etc then this can't be the case...

We may have to back door enter he system and setup a new Install code...

Hi Neil,
Thanks for your answer. Why don't you give me the sequence step by step to back door enter the system and set up a new install code. This way we can solve the problem and proceed. Regards.
