AUTOMATED ENTRY GATE SYSTEM I have an double swing automated

Customer Question

AUTOMATED ENTRY GATE SYSTEM I have an double swing automated gate entry system at my residence. I believe the phone system is a Sentex Spectrum and my operators are Stanley 470's. The system is over 30 years old. The phone system works great, however my operators are in need of replacement. I would like to purchase new operators and need some direction as to which operators would be most cost effective and best for working with my system. I'm hoping for advice from an expert with extensive entry gate experience!

Hi there,

The designs, parts and configurations of gate openers have changed considerably over the past 30 years. Control circuit types have also changed. There are no new operators available that are compatible with the Stanley 470 system.

You will need to either install a new gate entry system, or try and get some salvaged spare parts for your existing system.

You can view some suitable replacement systems at:

Are you saying there are no operators that are compatible with my Syntex spectrum phone system? You actually said compatible with the 470's, obviously I don't need them to be compatible with the 470's as I'm replacing them? I find it hard to believe there's nothing that will work with my current phone system.

There's no operators currently available that you can simply swap in.

You can probably use the existing phone system with any LiftMaster opener, but some reconfiguration will be necessary.
