The short version is this: I need to know if it is advisable to utilize a shark-bite coupling in a very difficult-to-reach location, such as behind a wall and further obscured from access by an HVAC duct?Longer version is: I had a leak that required removal of walls and duct work. Initial plumbing fix failed. Second fix utilized the shark bite. The leak is currently resolved, but I've heard from some that this is a risky thing for long term use under the circumstances.I suggested soldering the pipe, but the plumber said the pipe is too close to the wood and therefore not appropriate.Thoughts? … read more
