Bought some wainscotting paneling (probably MDF)from Menards

Customer Question

bought some wainscotting paneling (probably MDF)from Menards that is painted white. There are now several nail holes filled with spackling by Red Devil. Do I need to prime that before I paint it its final color?

Welcome to Just Answer, my name is ***** ***** I will do my best to help you with your issue. If my initial response doesn’t answer your question then let me know and we can continue our conversation.

If the spackle is just in the nail holes (doesn't extend beyond them) then you don't necessarily have to prime them since they will be so small it won't be noticeable once you apply the finish coat. If you're looking for perfection then prime them or us a top coat that has a built in primer.
