Customer Question

Hi, I have a Rheem electric water heater and it keeps powering off.
JA: Have you tried power cycling the appliance -- unplugging it and leaving it off for a few hours?
Customer: I have powered it off but only a few minutes at a time
JA: Do you plan on doing the work yourself?
Customer: depending on what the issue is
JA: Anything else we should know to help you best?

If the heater keeps powering off and comes back when you cycle the power off then back on again you probably have a faulty controller. This would be a warranty issue. I'd suggest you call Rheem tomorrow and make a warrnty claim. You can call them at 1-***-***-****. They'll want the model & serial number
