Does stormwater need to be retained and drained to mains

Customer Question

Does stormwater need to be retained and drained to mains from each residential property or is it allowed to run into neighbouring homes

Hi my name is ***** ***** I have been in the plumbing field for 20 years. I will be glad to help you today. Storm water cannot be drained into the waste drain but can be drained into a storm drain. Whatever storm water that drains onto the ground can be directed away from homes by grading the ground or installing drain systems but certainly not into the waste pipe.
