Customer Question

My garage door will not go up more than 5 inches when I press the door opener...without the door attached it works just fine...I have adjusted the height of the laser beams so they match...I don't know what to-do?

Welcome. My name is ***** ***** would be glad to assist.

If the opener trolley works with the open and close with the door disconnected, please do the following:

Disconnect the door from the trolley.

Open the door by hand very slowly paying close attention to the first 12" of travel.

Should be able to raise the door with one hand with very little restrictions.

See what it feels like.

At the same time look at the springs on the door, and match the left and right springs to see if they look identical.

See if there is any extra spacing between the coils on either side and also how much slack when the door is closed prior to opening and then again when closed.

Post results,

Thanks
