I just uncovered old hardwood floors that I cannot sand down

Customer Question

I just uncovered old hardwood floors that I cannot sand down at this time. what is the best way to clean and care for them until such time as I can sand them. They're in fair condition but one room had carpet but no pad, so all the jute fibers are melded
to the floor. can I use just linseed or some type of oil to help protect them but not make them tacky? Should I apply that oil hot or room temp?

Paste wax is your best bet. Just follow the directions on the can. Paste wax will improve the look of the floor and will be removed when you sand & refinish

Thanks I will give that a try.
