Customer Question

Hi, Stephen I just had my chimney replaced last week by a local contractor. The material used is a concrete based sheet, replacing the old 4x8 wooden sheet. As I proceeded to caulk it myself, I peered upon the roof and where the chimney meet and see a half inch gap exposing the framing and the moisture proof liner he had wrap around the framing. I called the contractor and he showed up the next day. He told be this was normal to give the water a chance move down the chimneys shingles. But he said to please me he would cover it up with something. Could I get your opinion?

It pretty difficult to picture what you're talking about. I really need a picture to give you an informed opinion. You can post a picture here byclicking on the paper clip icon in the tool bar at the top of this dialoguebox. You can only post from a PC or aMac nota phone or a tablet. If thatdoesn’t work for you then you can upload a pic to a file sharing service like OR and post the “share”link to your picture here or you can email the pic to customer service but thelast option can take quite a while to get to me.
