I need to build a small outdoor utility shack, just wide enough

Resolved Question:

I need to build a small outdoor utility shack, just wide enough to mount an exterior door. What is the narrowest exterior door commonly available, and how much extra width do I need to plan for to mount the door?

Hello .. Rich here .. are you planning to build this shack out of wood studs and plywood panels ?

Rich :

I think you can find a 2 foot 8 inch door at your local supply house

Customer: replied 4 years ago.
More likely structured insulated panels, which are foam core sandwiched in plywood, as I understand it. I'm going to ask them for a quote, and need to decide on my dimensions.

You will need to know what their construction is in the support of the corner to know how wide the front has to be

the door needs about 1 1/2 inches on each side for the rough in and frame .. so a 3 foot opening and probably a 4 inch minimum corner construction
