How do I fix a worn diving board and repair fiberglass

Customer Question

I have a worn 10 foot diving board. It appears that there are two pieces of wood that run length wise. The fiberglass towards the end of the board has a 6" crack in the middle. The previous owner said to buy a fiberglass repair kit and then repaint the board. Can I do that? Is it safe? Replacement boards are like $600-$700.

If the wood isn't cracked or rotten fixing the bord with a fiberglass resin is a good idea as long as you follow the directions the resin is very strong just make sure that when you fill the crack it's free of all moisture and dirt for a good bond
