how can i fix a x mailbox post broken off at the ground

Resolved Question:

How can I fix a 4x4 mailbox post broken off at the ground when the ground is frozen? The post is too near the curb and driveway to use guy wires.

Home Depot or Lowes sells a post anchor that is made of steel. It
is a spike about 2 feet long with a 4 x 4 bracket on the top. You drive
it into the ground (the ground isn't frozen very deep right now, and
put your existing post into the bracket. Takes about 10 minutes to do
and will last til the next snow plow hits it!! It will cost about $20

You could also just use two cement blocks...Put the two blocks on the
ground, insert your existing post and slide the blocks to "wedge in"
the post

Best of luck!!
