We have a cat 248B skid steer that starts and then dies when releasing the key
JA: What is the complete model and serial number of your machine?
Customer: cat 248B turbo high flow XPS two speed Model, ID# *****
JA: Are you fixing this yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: Yes and we tried replacing some relays
JA: Anything else you want the equipment mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: No We have only had this machine for 4 months and now it is snowing.

Locate the fuel shutoff solenoid, at the injection pump area. It has to have battery voltage at all times the key is on. If it has voltage and does not hold, the solenoid is bad. If it does NOT have voltage, follow the wire colors back to see if it has bad connection or relay.
