Good morning, the 28000 series is checked through the two plugs you have found in the housing, It is checked cold, not running.

Fill till it comes out the top plug. The 250 psi is well in the good range for the pump pressure and clutch pressure.

Should it be the same either hot or cold? What should the normal operating trans operating temp be?

Yes, it should stay at 250 psi, hot or cold. Operating temperature will be in the 200 to 250 F. range, Over 280 it shows as overheat.

We used the transmission in loaders, skidders, and scrapers, basic differences were the number of speeds and the drop boxes.
