wondering the cause of a Cummins N-14 sputtering a little at 750 to 800 rpm's then straightens out above or when working it but so as it is back down to 750 to 800 it starts to sputter a little

Hello and welcome to Just Answer! I would be more than happy to assist you today.The most common cause is the engine position sensor. It is located on the back side of the gear housing above the air comp. check the connector for oil intrusion. That was common also, The other cause is a mis adjusted over head or bad injector , You need insite the cummins program to pinpoint. any dealer has that for troubleshooting
