VerifiedHi my name is XXXXX XXXXX I am a Volvo Construction Equipment expert, I would like to try and assist you with your question. So there isn't any power at the key switch or starter wires? Manet the bell relay is bad or stuck which control main battery power. Or a bad ground will give you a no start condition, check the starter and engine frame grounds. Are you certain the battery post are clean and batteries are fully charged?
Hi Jim, okay so the problem would need to be resolved on the key switch first. The circuit breaker may have corrosion but just take a meter and verify voltage is on both sides. Depending on the condition of the machine a connector may be corroded causing this. If you have a schematic then I would start at the batteries and work towards the cab following power up into the key switch. If your key switch isn't getting power then the shifter won't matter yet. You could run a fused power lead to the battery switch to see that allows system operations. Then you know it is just a matter of finding out why the power source is missing. I can access a schematic back at the shop Tuesday if needed. Please advise, thanks Dan
