The best way is Call your local cummins get a qualified Qsm11 tech out to the boat with you and have them perform a engine survey. This survey the tech will/should hook up all gages and test equip to the engines, And you than will need to sea trial, Any issues would be seen in the numbers and readings obtained.along with oil samples, ect. The most common issue with these engines i have seen are front crank seals and front cover leaks,

Thanks very much; do you know how to find qualified (certified?) QSM11 tech in or near Burlington VT. If necessary I will pay travel time to Burlington for someone from nearby state. Also have you seen any problems with water pumps, after cooling or turbochargers

The other components are pretty solid, the pumps impeller are what go allot and should be changed every year. Turbos are good, As i said the biggest problem i see is oil leaks at the front cover area . Cummins did come out with a new style front crank seal to help stop that issue,DR.Cummins40693.5109604167
