Description

This Campaign authorizes the field to replace the high-pressure fuel line between the fuel injection pump and high-pressure common rail and install a mandatory fuel supply tube support bracket on select ISC/ISL and QSC/QSL CM850 engines (See attached ESN list).

Action

In order to qualify for repair under this Campaign, an engine:

1. will be covered regardless of warranty status, AND
2. must be an ISC with CM850 or ISL with CM850, AND
3. must be identified in the ESN listing found in Attachment A, AND
4. data plate must not be stamped 0610, AND
5. must not have a fuel supply line bracket installed.

After verifying the engine meets the above criteria, use the following instructions to install a new fuel line and bracket, Part Number(NNN) NNN-NNNN

1. Remove the present high-pressure fuel line between the injection pump and the high pressure common rail.
2. Remove the two (2) capscrews on top of the intake manifold cover plate that allow the bracket isolators to be in a position to clamp the fuel line.
3. Install a new fuel line and the bracket included with KIT PN(NNN) NNN-NNNN Refer to the Troubleshooting and Repair Manual, ISC and ISL Engines, Bulletin(NNN) NNN-NNNN Initially install the two (2) bracket mounting capscrews only finger tight.
4. Route the fuel line between the bracket isolators.
5. Install the bracket isolator capscrew finger tight.
6. Torque the fuel line according to Procedure 006-051 in the Troubleshooting and Repair Manual, ISC and ISL Engines, Bulletin(NNN) NNN-NNNN
7. Tighten the bracket screws to the intake manifold cover plate to 24 N•m [212 in-lb].
8. Tighten the isolator bracket screw to 9 N•m [80 in-lb].
9. Start the engine and check for leaks.
10. File a claim with parts and labor for the repair.
