It could be low on fluid. But check the left brake, it is the inching brake, which lets fluid bleed off the clutches , to allow you to move up to load slowly. If the inching valve is sticking, it will cause transmission to slip all the time. Depending on the year model, it can have a manual link to the control valve, or the later ones use a brake line to shift the valve. If it is manual, be sure it is returning full travel. If it is brake line, you will need to check the brake pedal return as well as the internal valve for sticking. Let me know. Thanks.

Curtis B I would like to keep you as my adviser do you know what type of fluid the trani needs I would like to start by adding fluid also I never use the E brake and yesterday it was used I checked it by tapping it all the way disengaged it seems to be working correctly . Curtis you have to understand this beast is no spring chicken no manual and although on my Harley I am pretty good never was trained in forklift mechanics. I don't know much, but have been keeping ole betty here up and running for a few years now I don't use it every day . but I just loaded 4 pallets at 2700lb a piece thank God I got through that before this happened I have about a week before I need its services again. don't have much Time to work on it today but I can jump on it tomorrow in the a.m.

Look at the fluid in the transmission on the "dipstick" I think this unit uses engine oil, the same as you would use in the engine of the lift. Itf is red, of course it is dexron, and then I would put dexron back in it. But I think you will find it is thicker and clear. Let me know. I am usually around.

Yes, you could overfill it, then it will blow out the vent when it gets hot! Put in a quart and see if it helps any. I still think you have the inch brake problem.
