Yes i would pull the cooler and have it cleaned out I think you will be ok from the intake Anything that went to the cooler would not have passed into the intake
I would replace the whole turbo and not just the turbo cartridge in case the turbo damaged the inlet or outlet housings.
Dont forget to do a oil and filter change too!

Yes it would be best to pill the cooler and back flush it,
A piece from the turbo can be in there and if its not big enough to pass threw it can rattle around and cause a leak,
