HOW DO i set timing on 1991 366 c.i. GMC Topkick
Hi I'm Wayne,
I will help you with this,

I am not sure what you mean by bypass wire???
I have time 366,427,454,

Please get back to me...Cool
Customer: replied 7 years ago.

In my manual for the pickup trucks with the 454 it says I must disconnect a wire to the computor on firewall to set timing but on this truck cannot find a simular wire to disconnect.

Hi yordl4v-,

That engine in a Top Kick, is differt engine then in a pick up truck...
I have never had to disconnect a wire to Time, just Vacuum advance,
Do you have that on side of Dist ??

Let me Know
Customer: replied 7 years ago.
There is no vacuum advance on this, it is electronically controlled, do I need to do anything to bypass the computor or just set it to what degree advance at idle?

Hi yordl4v,
Ok, all electronic, so like I said , I never had to unplug any wire, just high light the timing marks, and adjust. Is yours calling for 8 degree BTDC.

Thanks Wayne
