Bobcat: much fuel does a bobcat 150 use under normal usage

Resolved Question:

I am planning on renting a bobcat for a future landscaping job. I am trying to come up with a ball park estimation of the total cost. Approximately how much fuel does a bobcat 150 use under normal usage? With that being said, is 20 yards of soil per hour a good estimation?

Hi danny,I'm Dave. The 150 (t or s) will use approx 3 gal per hour at max load and engine speed, 2 gallon per hour at lower engine speed and load. We figure @ 3 gallons per hour to be on the safe side.As far as yards moved per hour it depends on bucket size, material being moved and distance of each move.If you are moving light material from a dump pile and spreading it close by (10-40 ft) then you can move approx 40 yards per hr,heavy dirt at the same range about 30 YPH .It also depends on your operator, are they a good qualified operator or a beginner,it makes a difference. Thanks for your question and let me know if you need more help.
