we have one of these trucks at the shop

we use for hauling a 30 foot flat deck trailer that carries 6 pallets of lawn sod and the weight is around 20000 pounds
i have also loaded a class 8 highway tractor on the flat deck and taken it backl to the shop
the dodge had no problems what so ever
we also had a cottage in swanton vermont and i am very familure with the terraine and hills you go through

however i would do this before you buy it
get any service records that are availble also have it taken to a mechanic that you know and trust to go over it

check the dodge recall site to see if therre is any recalls on the truck

i also want to take an oil sample on the engine and have it tested the sample will give you a report on what the internal parts of the engine this costs 19.00 and it will highlight any problem areas if any

you can switch to a k&n air filter that will give you better air flow

you can get a hp chip for them as well but i would try it first to see if all is good

we currently have 300000 miles on it and has not been touched other than regular maintenence

put an additive in the fuel tank on regular fill ups like lucas power up it keeps the injectors and system clean and operating well plus increases hp fuel milage

if you put a wind deflector on as well it will help

i usually put 4 onces of automatic transmission fluid in instead of power up sometimes

this not only cleans but cleard out any bad fuel if you get some during fill up
