I HAVE A JOHN DEERE 240 SKID STEER 2004 YEAR. THE LEFT PEDAL IS HARD TO PUSH TO GET THE BUCKET DOWN

Most probably you have some gunk in the pedal shaft bushings. Click here to see a break down of the parts. ref #21 . Liberally spray with some lubricant,work the pedal and respray.

You will have to remove the cover from on top of the pedal linkage, click here, to access the linkage.

If this doesn't work, then it may be in the valve.

sir could you please send me a diagram of the top cover and the linkage so i can see how it comes apart

I did, in my post where it says "click here" click on the word Here click on it, one shows the pedal linkage, the 2nd one the top cover ref # XXXXX has to come off first
