I have a Hitachi zaxis 50 ( 5 tonne ) excavator, model year 2007, recently it wouldnt start when warm, i have diagnosed

Customer: I have a Hitachi zaxis 50 ( 5 tonne ) excavator, model year 2007, recently it wouldnt start when warm, i have diagnosed this as a relay under the seat and have ordered a replacement, however at the same time as this fault developed, the engine has become very smokey, with a blue type of smoke, i suspected poor quality fuel, any ideas?

Hi Connor,a blue smoke indicates engine oil being burned off.I would start with an inspection of the air filter first.Next I would check the engine oil and see if its been diluted with diesel fuel(possibly due to the no start warm). If you need some more help let me know, Thanks, Dave.
