Customer Question
I’ve been having headaches...

I’ve been having headaches the past 3 weeks and a tense neck along with shoulder tightness and face tightness I went in to the ER 3 months ago for the same thing and everything was normal, when I’m relaxed the tense neck is there but I don’t feel the headache every now and then it’ll come on but a few seconds later it’s gone when I’m relaxed but as soon as I think about it it’s terrible I’ve been really worried about an aneurysm the past few weeks but I’m only 21 yrs old I’m just wondering if you can wipe that from my head

Doctor's Assistant: Is the headache episodic or daily? And what about nausea?

Daily yes nausea only when I worry

Can you touch the chest with chin?

Did you take any medicine?

Ask Your Own Health Question
Customer reply replied 5 months ago
I can touch my chin on my chest very easily and yes I have taken medicine for it and it helps me relax and it helps a lot it just comes back when i tense up
Health Professional: Dr. Su S, Doctor (MD) replied 5 months ago

Thank you for the input.
I am very sorry for your symptoms.
The symptoms do not sound like aneurysm.
It is likely from anxiety, stress.
There can be neck muscle spasm from it.
Sometimes, cervical spine issues like spondylosis can cause it.
But it is uncommon at your age.
Please do not worry.
If the symptom continues, I would advise to take an examination by doctor.
I hope this information will be helpful.
If you have any query, please feel free to ask.
Your satisfaction is my goal.
If you are happy with my answer please click on 5 star rating so that I can get the credit for helping you.

How long does it usually take for an aneurysm to kill someone after it ruptured cause I don’t have any family history I’m just curious cause I know people die right away or even weeks later
Customer reply replied 5 months ago
is an aneurysm uncommon for a 21 yr old
Health Professional: Dr. Su S, Doctor (MD) replied 5 months ago

Rupture of aneurysm causes intense headache. neck rigidity.
As you can touch the chest with chin, it is not rigidity.

I got out of the shower 15 minutes ago and my head felt like it had a lot of pressure in it is that normal for headaches like this
Customer reply replied 5 months ago
I have been a little stuffed up lately not too much just enough to notice it
Health Professional: Dr. Su S, Doctor (MD) replied 5 months ago

The feeling is likely from your anxiety.
It is not related to aneurysm.

many people say if it was an aneurysm I’d be long gone would that be accurate
Health Professional: Dr. Su S, Doctor (MD) replied 5 months ago

You can not sit & work with rupture of aneurysm.

Ask Your Own Health Question
Customer reply replied 5 months ago
Okay cause my headaches sometimes get to the point where I gotta sit and chill for a few minutes but again I was in and got an MRI done a few months ago and everything looked fine
Health Professional: Dr. Su S, Doctor (MD) replied 5 months ago

As I wrote, rupture would cause you acutely ill.
It will not come & go as you are feeling.
It is more like an anxiety.
MRI also did not show anything abnormal.
Please do not worry.

it sounds like you have a lot of anxiety symptoms and worry?

we don't see aneurysms in 21 year old patients.

you could be having a sinus infection causing your headaches if you have sinus congestion.

you die when they rupture. it is super super rare to have them rupture. you are letting your anxiety get out of control with worry about something you don't have.

Is it normal to have a stabbing pain in the temple after yawning or coughing cause I thought this could be TMJ
Health Professional: Dr. David, Doctor (MD) replied 5 months ago

bad anxiety can cause you to clench and grind your teeth and cause pain in your temples and TMJ jaw area.

you could be grinding your teeth at night time

you may benefit from a bite guard to prevent this.

I woke up this morning with a stiff back and I could touch my chin to my chest but when I didjust below my neck middle of my shoulder blades were tight and starting to hurt can that have something to do with the way I sleep
Customer reply replied 5 months ago
Now the stiffness is almost gone but I feel really light headed
Customer reply replied 5 months ago
I wanna say that’s a symptom of anxiety too but I don’t know I’m not a professional
Health Professional: Dr. David, Doctor (MD) replied 5 months ago

yes, no chance of you having an aneurysm.

it is very common to wake up with stiffness in your back.

more stretching, yoga and exercise can help with this.

your anxiety symptoms are causing you to feel light headed

these symptoms don't point to you having an aneuysm

you need to see your doctor to talk about treatment for your bad anxiety symptoms

or else you will continue to worry

Ask Your Own Health Question

Okay, I had an MRI done 3 months ago and they found nothing I notice a pain directly right in front of my ear made worse by touching it I wanna say there’s nerves there and I’m a health freak myself but when it comes to inside work I’m clueless my anxiety must be getting pretty bad but a 21 yr old having an aneurysm very uncommon probably impossible but 3 months ago would they have saw something before anything formed anyway
Health Professional: Dr. David, Doctor (MD) replied 5 months ago

the MRI scan 3 months ago would have seen any aneurysm in your brain.

you don't have a aneurysm.

you most likely have sore muscles in front of your ear from grinding your teeth, clenching and TMJ joint inflammation

this is not a sign of aneurysm.

that sounds like bad anxiety symptoms, bad muscle tension and clenching

you need to try some yoga and deep breathing exercises and meditation and regular exercise.

Customer reply replied 5 months ago
Do pinched nerves cause these headaches
Customer reply replied 5 months ago
I just drank a glass of milk and my teeth feel numb and caused a tender feel on the bone or nerve just above my jaw right next to my ear
Health Professional: Dr. David, Doctor (MD) replied 5 months ago

we see them more when you are aged 60 or 70

but even then, they are rare.

muscle tension, anxiety, stress, dehydration, clenching your jaw can cause these headaches.

cold milk can irritate your teeth. you may benefit from some sensitive teeth tooth paste and seeing your dentist more regularly

do they form over months years days or all of the above... when I flex my jaw I hear and sometimes feel cracking above my ear and upper temple

that cracking is from inflammation of your TMJ jaw joint, not from aneurysms.

My nose has been just a little stuffy here and there too
Health Professional: Dr. David, Doctor (MD) replied 5 months ago

yes, an aneurysm will start out as a weak spot in a blood vessel before it bulges.

stuffy nose is common and most likely is due to allergies or inflammation in your body and your sinuses.

yes, you can have anxiety symptoms when you don't feel anxious.

About 1% to 4% of the U.S. population have a aneurysm. About 1 in 10000 are diagnosed each year. More women have aneurysm than men. They are diagnosed mostly in people age 30 to 60. If an aneurysm ruptures it will cause an intense headache, vision deficit and other obvious neurological deficiencies. If an aneurysm starts to cause these symptoms without obvious rupture, the rupture will occur in less than 24 hours. Close to 60 % of rupture will be fatal.
You are not likely to have head symptoms from an aneurysm because you didn’t have it when you were checked for it. However, I believe you are so worried about an aneurysm that it is no way to live. Your anxiety is consuming you. Don’t waste your youth on worrying about aneurysm, because as you age you will have other issues to worry about. As for your headaches, most if not all of them are from all the muscles, glands, joints, skin and pulsating blood vessels in and around your skull. I hope you can understand what your fear is doing to your peace of mind.

I’m not having an aneurysm?
Health Professional: Dr Ted Manos, Doctor (MD) replied 5 months ago
You are 21 yo and even had an MRI not showing an aneurysm. Large aneurysm tend to rupture and they are obvious on a MRI. So, you are probably one chance in a million for an aneurysm rupturing. Actually, there are many unlikely things that can happen to you in the near future. Life is not designed to worry about the unlikely things that can happen. I imagine there are not enough things in your life that occupy your thoughts. Sports, hobbies, relationships and career choices must not be in your thoughts. I’m semi- retired and I worry about my golf swing, look forward to Major League Baseball again on my new sports package cable service and I don’t think of many risks at my age that didn’t exist when I was 21 yo.

Health Professional: Dr Ted Manos, Doctor (MD) replied 5 months ago
It would explain neck stiffness, but you wouldn’t necessarily have a headache. You probably expect some type of headache and it happens. Wish you can find some peace of mind and not have these head things. I must admit that I’ve never had headaches except with a hangover and none for more than twenty years as I don’t drink so much to get a hangover anymore. It’s possible for you not to have headaches as we have the same head parts in common. I’d appreciate if you would evaluate and rate your satisfaction with my information.
