I am confused about how to switch from lexapro 10 mg to Paxil? My pharmacist said just switch. My dr wanted me to taper off lexapro. I'm confused.
JA: What confuses you?
Customer: Do I take Paxil one day and lexaprothe next. Then lexapro every 3 days? Then be on Paxil
JA: How is your mood? Are you experiencing regular sleep disturbances (e.g. trouble falling asleep, waking up early)?
Customer: I had a rough month last month I was super sad. And now I feel better? I feel like my sleep is fine

Hi there - the general recommended switch over between escitalopram (Lexapro) and paroxetine (Paxil) is as follows:

-withdraw Lexapro gradually to prevent withdrawal symptoms (particularly if long term use); usually reduce dose by 25% per day.

-after Lexapro is completely stopped, wait 2-4 days before starting Paxil
