Customer Question

My 23 year old son has a long brown non draining discoloration on the side of his foot by the knuckle of his great toe. It has even boundaries, half is a darker shade than rest, no tenderness, swelling, says it feels like bubbles under it now. Discovered 2 weeks ago after running in running shoes and feeling something pop, like a blood vessel. However, todays picture looks exactly like tge original one 2 weeks ago. I notice a lot of vascularity near it and, despite his saying its not warm, it does appear sliightly red.

Got it--thanks

Is it tender at all?

Customer: replied 5 months ago.
No tenderness, not hot to touch
Expert:  Dr. Chip replied 5 months ago.

OK

Looks like the equivalent of a blood blister--just a small broken vein under his skin that now has just turned brown

Nothing serious at all and it should clear soon although he should pad that area while he's wearing shoes

Let me know if you need any more information

Curious that this blood blister hasnt changed for 2 weeks.
So, this doesnt appear to be cancerous...
Expert:  Dr. Chip replied 5 months ago.

Absolutely not--it's not cancer I'm sure
