Customer Question

For months now I have had this strange fuzzy feeling in the middle/ center of the lower back part of my head. It lasts seconds and then goes away and minutes later comes back and then again, goes away. I find I have to put my head backwards and shake it a bit to get it to go away. I don't know if this is something serious or not. Can you please help?
JA: How long have you been dealing with this? Is there anything in particular that makes your head feel worse or better?
Customer: maybe 2-3 months now. If I put my head backwards like looking to the sky, it helps a bit but the feeling is almost like there is something in my head which sounds crazy, I know but that's how it feels to me.
JA: Anything else in your medical history you think the doctor should know?
Customer: I have epilepsy, thyroid problems, migraines, low iron

Welcome to JustAnswer.

How frequently do you feel it?
Do you have any other symptom?

How old are you?
Did you have any test?
Did you consult doctor or take any measure?

Customer: replied 11 months ago.
It happens a few hours a day, off and on about 15 times. I'm 22 years old. I had a routine MRI in July of 2015 for my epilepsy but it was clear. I've consulted my doctor but he says it's nothing.

Thank you for all the information,
I am sorry for your symptoms.
The feeling in the back of the head can be from different causes.
It can be present in case of stress or tension.
Other causes can be in the brain or vascular issues.
High blood pressure, subarachnoid hemorrhage, meningeal irritation can be factors.
Occipital neuralgia can cause abnormal sensation here due to irritation of nerve, usually on one side.
As the doctor has examined you & MRI was normal, it can be stress or anxiety problem.
Please try to avoid anxiety.
I hope this information helps.
If there’s anything else I can do, please let me know.
Wish your early recovery.
Please rate my answer excellent if you are satisfied with it.
