Customer Question

Hi. I have a rash in my groin. I've had it before (it comes and goes depending on my diet) I've struggled with yeast infections and what not in the past. However I'm concerned about it now because it's purple
JA: Have you seen a doctor about this yet? What medications are you taking?
Customer: No not yet. I called my doctor but he is out of the office. In the past he treated it as a fungal issue and I used an anti fungal cream. But it has never been purple before
JA: Anything else in your medical history you think the doctor should know?
Customer: I'm not on any medications But did just start taking vitamin c and magnesium
JA: What medications do you take daily? Are you allergic to any medications?
Customer: No medications just started a couple days ago taking a vitamin c and magnesium supplement

Are you only having this purple rash on your groin or on other parts of your body as well?

Customer: replied 9 months ago.
Only on my groin is it purple. I also have a rash on my chest and side (by ribs) that is similar in shape, but it's reddish/pink not purple
Expert:  Michael Salama replied 9 months ago.

Can I see that one too?

Customer: replied 9 months ago.
its hard to get a good pic but it's just light red/pink instead of purple but similar shape to purple one

It is a bit hard to see.

It does not appear to be fungal.

However, most of the time when reddish/purple rashes appear on the body they are related to the clotting factors in the blood.

I would ask your doctor to perform a complete blood count, pt, ptt and inr.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

If not, please don't forget to leave a positive rating (bonus appreciated) as that's the only way I get credit for answering your question.

Thank you!
