Customer Question

stomach ache for 6 days (tenderness, bloating, uncomfortableness) a little nausea on and off no vomiting or fever. Regular bowel movements until day 6 now have diarrhea still no fever. Had my gallbladder out 17 years ago. Have been eating a very bland diet for the past 6 days. Have no used aspirin. I have tried gas-x, zantac, rolaids, and tums -- didn't help.
JA: How long have you been in pain? Are you experiencing any vomiting or nausea?
Customer: 6 days nausea on and off no vomiting
JA: Anything else in your medical history you think the doctor should know?
Customer: gallbladder removed in 1999, had colonoscopy done last year nothing unusual there, have had a barium swallow in 1999 (before gallbladder was removed) came back my digestive system is slow. I'm 49, 5'2, 150lbs -- 3 children by c-section. No major health issues.

Where do you feel the tenderness exactly?

How is urine?

Do you have any other symptom?

Customer: replied 9 months ago.
Residually feels like whole stomach perhaps more upper then lower -- very bloated. Urine seems normal. No blood or unusual discharge. Started to get headache. Been keeping fluids up -- drinking warm ginger ale which is making me burp and that helps momentarily.

Stomach gurgles -- definitely something going on but 6 days seems concerning

Thank you for the information,
There can be a gastrointestinal infection or inflammation.
In most cases it is viral.
It usually passes off in 3-5 days.
Sometimes, bacterial or parasitic infection can be there.
I would suggest to take an examination by doctor.
A stool test, blood work would help to plan treatment.

An ultrasound can be needed too.
Meanwhile, please try to keep good hydration.
Take plenty of fluid, gatorade, oral rehydration solution.
Urine output should be observed.
In dehydration, it will decrease.
Bland soft diet, rice, banana, toast can be taken.
These are usually better tolerated.

Antibiotic can be needed.
I hope this information helps.
If there’s anything else I can do, please let me know.
