I have hardly been able to eat for 8 days now. I mean, 6

Customer Question

Hi, I have hardly been able to eat for 8 days now. I mean, 6 baby carrots, one granola bar and some kefir is all. Yesterday my GP recommended that I go to hospital because they could so at least IV fluids, but I was not well taken care of (my weight wasn't even checked, nor did I receive fluids). I have a hospital that I have been to several times (diagnosed with sepsis and in ICU for a month) and am wondering if I should just perhaps go to that one instead as they might run more tests?
My heart rate is 95%saturatuon and pulse at 74. At the time of discharge yesterday, my blood pressure was 90/58. I am not athletic, and am on propanalol for tachycardia.
Should I return to the hospital that has all of my records or continue to wait this out hoping I get an appetite?
Thank you,

Please write your question in detail.

Were you discharged from hospital yesterday?

What medicines were prescribed at the time of discharge?

Which tests were taken?

Customer: replied 10 months ago.
Discharge was yesterday and I was there for maybe one hour. They did a pregnancy test, drew blood, and no prescription was given I did not even receive fluids.

Was the pregnancy test positive?

What other blood test was taken?

Do you have loss of weight?

Customer: replied 10 months ago.
The pregnancy test was negative (I'm not sexually active at this time), I'm unsure of the blood tests they ran, and I don't know if I've lost weight because they did not weigh me.

Thank you for all the information,
I am sorry for your symptoms.
Anxiety, stress, depression are common causes for loss of appetite.
Infection, effect of medicines are frequent causes.
After a viral infection loss of appetite can persist for sometime.
There can be other causes like low thyroid state, malignancy etc.
Hepatitis, chronic kidney, liver disease can cause it.
The detection of cause is important.
Treatment of the cause would correct the issue.
However, I think there was no major illness as the hospital did not find any serious issue & discharged you.
I would suggest to contact your GP & have a review.
He can check for any new sign & advise accordingly.
You should avoid anxiety, stress.
Please try to keep good hydration by drinking enough fluid, gatorade..
I hope this information helps.
If there’s anything else I can do, please let me know.
Wish your early recovery.
Please rate my answer excellent if you are satisfied with it.
