Hi there,
This is Dr Basu, experienced Internal Medicine Specialist.
I am here to address your concerns and provide great service.

Intensive medical treatment is the mainstay for asymptomatic 70% carotid artery stenosis.

That means aspirin, plavix, high dose statin, control of blood pressure around 130/80, prevention of diabetes, healthy lie style.

High fiber diet, avoidance of smoking, limiting alcohol intake, regular exercise as tolerated are desirable.

Surgical repair is only considered if the stenosis worsens even with intensive medical treatment and becomes more than 80% over time.
Best wishes,
It was my pleasure to help you today.
