What is your age?

What is the quality of the pain -- sharp / dull / burning / tearing / etc?

Do you have any nausea ?

Any cough ?

Do you have history of any health problems ?

Does it hurt to take a deep breath ?

Any tenderness to press on the chest / ribs/ near sternum ?

You've had an EKG? Normal? Any other tests ?

Let me know on these details and I will get back with you .....

Hello again ,

Ok at age 29 it is not at all likely to be caused by coronary artery disease or such blocked arteries..

Any racing of your pulse ?

Any triggers to produce the pain?

Any increase in excercise recently ?

Any heartburn ? ( thinking ESOPHAGEAL spasm as possible cause )

When did it start? Getting better over time or worse?

You should be able to print this out if you have a printer ...

Smart phone / other devices may allow share function to send to your email or other ....

Chest wall pain / pinched nerve would fit with sharp character of pain....

If more details as to factors making this better or worse can be identified then that may help..

Does it hurt more standing straight vs bending at waist to either side forward or back? Twist at waist to rotate shoulders >> any change ?

Any rash on back / side to chest ( thinking shingles ...)

Let me know and I will get back with you

Best regards,

Anthony Bray MD
