Customer Question

I have been dealing with tonsillitis for 6-7 weeks now and I think somethings wrong. I'm usually never sick for longer than 1-2 weeks so I'm a bit worried. I'm an ex smoker so obviously cancer is number one priority to weed out of diagnosis. My right tonsil is swollen and my right ear has pressure on it. I've been taking Ibuprofen and strong paid medicine (500mg paracetamol x 15mg codeine) for the entire duration of my sickness.
I was on the maximum dosage per day but now I'm down to 2 ibuprofen and 4 pain pills per day and I am seeing slight improvement. What worries me is at the 5 week mark I went to bed feeling completely fine, I felt like I had finally just gotten over it, Then I wake up at 3 am that morning and my tonsil was hurting.
I'm going to the doctors tomorrow to sort this out but for my own sanity and so I can sleep tonight can anyone explain this please?
