My 4 month old has a few small petechiae spots on her scalp.

Customer Question

My 4 month old has a few small petechiae spots on her scalp. She seems healthy. Had a CBC done last month for a UTI. Her blood work was normal. She seems fine. She snorts a little while breathing, but has silent reflux. What could this be caused from?

Thank you for your question.
I am Dr Saha, I shall try my best to help you.
Since when is she having this issue?
Does she have any other symptom? or past illness?

How many spots are there? How large?

Are they increasing?
Did she have any other test?
Did you consult doctor or take any measure for this issue?

Customer: replied 11 months ago.
One small spot on her temple and then 2 tiny tiny spots on her crown. I just noticed them today. No past illnesses. No other testing besides a CBC last month.

Thank you for the information,
There can be a few possibilities.
Local inflammation or dermatits is possible.
There can be injury, bites too.
There can be a fungal infection.
You can wait & watch.
If the spots increase in number or size, I would suggest to take an examination by doctor.
Mild cases can subside gradually.
I hope this information helps.
