Customer Question

I am pretty sure I have a bacterial infection. I have alot of discharge and horrible smell down there :/ so my question is. Is there something I can buy over the counter to get rid of it? I have an appointment on Sept 30 for my pap but it's a month away and don't want to wait that long.

Thank you for all the information,
It can be due to bacterial infection.
Bacterial infection usually causes bad smell.
There can be other causes like trichomonial infection, cervicitis.
Bacterial infection can occur due to imbalance of the normal bacterial flora of the vagina.
Some factors may precipitate the symptoms like excess douching.
There can be overgrowth of normal bacterial flora of the vagina.
Decrease in the number of the normal lactobacilli in the vagina and increase in concentration of gardrenella bacteria causes the symptoms.
Clean with plain water.
I would advise to consult doctor in urgent care or walk in clinic.
He can take internal examination, swab test to find out the exact cause.
Metronidazole or Clindamycin is usually prescribed for bacterial vaginosis.
These are prescription medicines.
I am sorry, you can not get them OTC.
I hope this information helps.
