I have a grandson who is seven has been running a,fever for 12 days at times 102 to now 103 they said they thought he has salmonellsa poisoning. Did a culture last wk said it could take up to 10 days to get back. Does this sound logical

He had diarrhea for about 9 days loss of appetite. Fatigue no other symptoms i can think of. They ran blood test white count slightly elevated. Said he was dehydrated by blood count gave him iv fluids about 6 days ago. Checked his ears they were clear.
