I have a vibrating sensation on the top of my right foot,

Customer Question

I have a vibrating sensation on the top of my right foot, occurring every 20-25 seconds, in exactly the same location. What could cause this?
JA: Have you seen a doctor about this yet? What medications are you taking?
Customer: No doctor and no medications. It began last night. I did have a chiropractic exam yesterday with manipulation of my left foot, large toe joint. A podiatrist thinks this is arthritis with a bone spur. I wear a sponge pad and use ice pack to decrease left foot sensations, and it seems to help. This right foot sensation just began overnight. My only prescription medication is Atorvastatin for cholesterol management, with a recent reading of 134 total cholesterol.
JA: What medications do you take daily? Are you allergic to any medications?
Customer: I only take the Atorvastatin plus some vitamins (B, C, D)
JA: Anything else in your medical history you think the doctor should know?
Customer: No, I believe I am in above average health for a 76-year old male, retired.

Thank you for your question.
I am Dr Saha, I shall try my best to help you.
The vibration sensation is likely due to nerve impulses.
It can be due to pinching of a nerve or its root any where in its course, in the spine or in the limb.
The other common causes are low calcium or electrolytes, vitamins, thyroid diseases, diabetes, or other nerve diseases.
Low circulation can also cause such sensation.
I would advise to get an examination by doctor & have a few tests.
Please try to take more fresh fruits, vegetables.
Vitamin & calcium supplements can be helpful.
I hope this information helps.
If there’s anything else I can do, please let me know.
