I had a Mumps (ABS) IgG test and the results indicated it

Customer Question

I had a Mumps (ABS) IgG test and the results indicated it was abnormal. Could this mean that I had the mumps recently?
JA: Have you seen a doctor about this yet? What medications are you taking?
Customer: Yes, I have seen the doctor. He ordered the test. I am taking Xanax, Cardizem and Armour Thyroid. I had been sick with what I thought was a bad cold or sinus infection. I did not take any antibiotics.
JA: How long have you been dealing with this? Are you having any breathing problems?
Customer: About 3 weeks. My age is 64. No I don't have any breathing problems.
JA: Anything else in your medical history you think the doctor should know?
Customer: I have off and on abnormal liver enzymes, and just recently an abnormal APTT.

Hello and thank you for your question. It’s my first priority and pleasure to help you.

I understand your concern.

As per your description, Mumps (ABS) IgG test indicates past infection.

IgG antibodies stay positive for life providing protection against re-infection.

So you shouldn't worry about it.

Interpretation immunity from prior infection or vaccination.

Hope this helps.
