I currently take 5mg of fluphenazine and 80 mg of geodon I

I currently take 5mg of fluphenazine and 80 mg of geodon I am very stable, however, I have concerns about fluphenazine and would like to try invega but I do not know if you can take that with geodon which I am very happy with. I have schizoaffective disorder but I do work and have good quality of life.

Hello, Ann,

Generally it isn't recommended to use Geodon and Invega together because it risks an irregular heart rhythm. You can read more here:,1781-2498

Of course, the same is true of Geodon and fluphenazine.,2330-1540

Switching drugs is something you will need to discuss with your psychiatrist. Only he or she is in a position to help you decide if it's worth the risk, especially since you are currently well controlled. We always hesitate to fix something that isn't broken.
