The pattern that you describe sounds that you may have some venous insufficiency as a possible cause...if this is the reason then you may have leaky valves of deep veins ...this type swelling would tend to get worse with prolonged standing -- better when you sleep overnight --- elevating legs may tend to be helpful ...Does this seem to fit your case ??

You may see your doctor for further evaluation...

Often this type swelling tends to be worse in hot weather and prolonged standing but sitting with legs down may worsen swelling as well....

It does not sound so far that you have generalized swelling or edema of the Legs ... That could be more significant causes if present may check you for "pitting edema" ( causes of kidney dysfunction or heart failure are more raised as concerns with this type )

I hope that this information is helpful for you

Let me know if you have further questions or concerns or discussion

I will be happy to get back with you
