My 18 year old daughter passed out in the bathroom stall of

Customer Question

My 18 year old daughter passed out in the bathroom stall of a public restroom. She said that she bent down to pull up her shorts when she suddenly felt dizzy and passed out. I'm curious as to what would cause this.
JA: OK. The Doctor will need to help you with this. Is there anything else important you think the Doctor should know?
Customer: She is in excellent health, is an athlete, and takes good care of herself although it seems like symptoms from a case of mono reappear every so often.
JA: OK. Got it. I'm sending you to a secure page on JustAnswer so you can place the $5 fully-refundable deposit now. While you're filling out that form, I'll tell the Doctor about your situation and then connect you two.

Welcome to Justanswer website.

Myself Dr Josh and I’m happy to help with your question today. Please provide me the following information so that I can address your concern

Did she had low blood sugar level at that time?

Has she under lot of stress recently?

Any past significant medical issue?

How long back she has mono ?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
She had just finished a meal so I'm confident her blood sugar level was okay. She just recently graduated from high school so I am assuming her stress level is low. She had mono two years ago and frequently suffers from fatigue. Her menstruation cycle has always caused pain and fatigue but she wasn't on her cycle at the time.

Thanks for all these additional details.

I am sorry to hear about your daughter's problems.

It sounds that she has suffered from a Syncope. It occur when brain doesn't' t gets enough blood flow and one lose consciousness.
Usually a slow heart rate causes a drop in blood pressure, this reduces the blood flow to the brain.

Possible causes are-

-Emotional distress,
-Heart disease (decreased blood flow to the heart or irregular heart rhythm),
-Low blood sugar,
-Panic attacks,
-Blood pressure imbalance.

At her age, i would not be worried for heart disease.

As you said, that she has just taken meals, so it can't be low blood sugar level.

May be blood pressure imbalance or panic attack is the most common possibility.

It is also possible, that this could be related with fatigue and stress.

A clinical examination should be necessary.

Though chances of getting any serious issue are slim.

But for peace of mind, it is better to get a clinical examination done.

Please consult her primary doctor and get it clinically evaluated.

Hope this helped
