Fractured radius near elbow, right very little motor

Customer Question

fractured radius near elbow, right very little motor function in the fingers and hand, happened yesterday afternoon, can make a fist but cannot straighten my fingers. Have 3 days until I see orthopedist, is that too long to wait, have had x-rays yesterday. In a sling now.

It isn't unusual to have altered nerve function due to swelling pressing on the nerves. Try just to rest your arm and hand in the sling until you see the orthopedist. Three days isn't an unreasonable time to wait. The arm cannot be immobilized in a cast until the swelling goes down. That typically takes several days.

Kind regards,
