I stubbed my 3rd toe in 2 nights ago, its black and blue from knuckle dow into foot, can't get a shoe on and hurts to walk on it. What can I do for it

Hello, this is Dr. Salama MD,

This sounds like a more serious injury than simply stubbing your toe.

Since you have pain with walking on it and it's discolored please get an X-ray to make sure there is no fracture.

The bones in the foot are very small and prone to breaking.

Till you get further evaluation you can take Motrin 400mg every 6 hours and Ice the area for 20 minutes every hour for 5 hours.
