Customer Question

I'm a 66-year-old female in generally good health. I went to urgent care Saturday because I knew that I was very sick and it turns out I have pneumonia. I have not been able to get in touch with my primary care physician yet to make an appointment. (left her anvil-Avis Logan) they put me on two antibiotics (Azithromicin and Augmentin) but I'm not feeling any better and my temperature is consistently 100.2. I feel so sick because I never get sick like this and I don't know whether I should go to the ER.

Hi there,
This is Dr Basu, experienced Internal Medicine Specialist.
I am here to address your concerns and provide great service.

That is concerning.

At the same little early to say the antibiotics are not working.

However pneumonia can sometimes get worse causing lung failure.

Hence you should go back to the ER for further evaluation.

IV antibiotics and respiratory support should be helpful with faster recovery.
Best wishes,
It was my pleasure to help you today.
