Customer Question

I took Vicodin for a back injury early in the day. I then had drinks later on and completely blacked out. I was involved in a fight an punched in the head. I was told by my friends that afterwords I was very agressive and angry which is not like me as I usually am very laid pack and positive even in stressful situations. Is this a common reaction to pain killers or head trauma? I need to know why I acted this way?

Hi there,
This is Dr Basu, experienced Internal Medicine Specialist.
I am here to address your concerns and provide great service.

Yes it is.

Pain killers and alcohol cause suppression of the brain centers.

And then head trauma can cause sparks fly in the brain.

This can result in violent reaction.

Ofcourse there is also risk of bleeding inside the brain.

That should be ruled out with a brain scan.

You will likely recover over time fully.

Do see your doctor or go to the ER for further evaluation.
Best wishes,
It was my pleasure to help you today.
