I'm sorry to hear you've had that awful gastroenteritis. So many people have had it recently. You can start back to regular foods with easy to digest items like applesauce, toast, bananas, rice (the typical BRAT diet). As tolerated you can add yogurt, baked potato, scrambled egg (easy on any added butter/margarine), soups, custards, etc. When I was little (and even today) I looked forward to those baked custards with a spoonful of raspberry jam on top. Usually it takes 2-3 days to get back to eating regular food.
