I have really bad migraines, so my doctor prescribed me

Customer Question

I have really bad migraines, so my doctor prescribed me imitrex (however you spell it). I had a bad migraine earlier so I took one for the first time. Now the back of my head and my neck hurt and it's hard to keep my head up and hurts to put it down. And my neck is really warm.

Did you take just the one as soon as you had the beginning of symptoms?

Did you take another 2 hours later if the symptoms weren't improved?

I took one and then the symptoms started about 15 minutes after.

Neck stiffness and the other things you mention can be side effects of the Imitrex, even when it takes care of the pain of the migraine. The side effects disappear over the next few hours. Be sure to tell your prescriber about the reaction you had so they can choose a different migraine drug for you.

Best regards,
